What is SmartFoam?

We developed a high-quality foam that makes the super efficient packaging process possible. We decided to call it SmartFoam due to its breakthrough properties.

What makes it convenient?

SmartFoam technology makes M1 the planet’s most convenient sofa to receive and assemble. No appointments required. It takes one person just minutes to assemble (or disassemble).

What is OEKO TEX Performance Weave?

Our products are upholstered in spill proof Performance Weave that is OEKO-TEX certified. This means liquid beads off the fabric.

OEKO-TEX label is certified as having passed safety tests for the presence of harmful substances.

How long does it take to grow?

We recommend light use for the first 24 hours to allow your sofa to expand and restore its shape evenly. During the first few days, you may notice that the foam appears misshaped or that the fabric has wrinkles—this is completely normal and part of the expansion process. Over the course of a week, the foam will continue to firm up and expand, and the fabric will settle into place. By the end of this period, your sofa will be fully expanded and ready for regular use.

Our breakthrough foam technology works best with time, and your sofa will continue to adapt to your body and environment, becoming even more comfortable as it completes the expansion.

To help with the process, there are a few things you can do:

  • Follow our [video guide here] for tips on how to unwrap and position your sofa for optimal expansion.
  • If desired, you can gently use a steamer on medium heat to help release wrinkles in the fabric more quickly.

Please note that expansion is a gradual process, and it may take at least one full week for your sofa to fully expand. If you still have concerns after this time, feel free to reach out to us at hello@rovelab.com with a description of the issues and any photos or images of the sofa, and our team will assist you further.

How can all foam be high quality?

The SmartFoam material is actually more expensive to produce than traditional sofas, not less. You will be surprised by how firm yet supportive SmartFoam can be. The savings come from hyper-efficient storage and transportation, and not the materials. Our innovation in packaging is how we have the lowest carbon footprint per sofa.

Delivery & Returns

Is shipping free?

Yes, we pass on all the logistics savings from our innovation to you. Outbound shipping for your order is free.

Please note, if a shipment is returned to our warehouse due to a failed delivery and needs to be reshipped, a $99 reshipping fee will apply.

Can I return my Order?

Yes, you can return your order within 100 days of receiving it. To initiate a return, please contact the Rove Lab customer support team within 100 days of delivery.

The item must be in its original condition, and a $99 return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund.

To start the return process, email us at hello@rovelab.com with your order number and reason for the return. Please note, arranging a return collection may take 2–3 weeks, or longer in some rural areas.

Do I need to be home for my delivery?

You don’t necessarily need to be home for your delivery. Direct Freight Express offers flexible delivery options, including leaving your parcel in a safe place if you’re not available. The driver will take a photo to confirm the delivery and send you a notification with the details of where it was left.

If you're not home and the parcel can’t be safely left, the driver may attempt to reschedule delivery, or you’ll be able to make arrangements for a redelivery via their tracking page.

Can I schedule my delivery?

Direct Freight Express does not offer the option to schedule a specific delivery appointment. Their standard delivery hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Deliveries are typically made during these hours without a set time slot.

Can I delay my shipment or delivery date?

Due to high demand and limited stock availability, we are unable to store products or delay shipments. Orders will be dispatched as soon as stock becomes available, and we cannot accommodate requests for delayed shipping.

If you are moving or renovating, please ensure you fully open and inspect your delivery within one week of receiving it. We strongly advise against leaving items unopened in their packaging for an extended period.

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

If your item(s) are in stock, the lead time is typically 5-7 business days for delivery. If your item is a pre-order, your invoice will show the estimated arrival window for when the stock will reach our warehouse. Once it arrives, shipping will take an additional 5-7 business days.

If your order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, they will be shipped as soon as they become available, which means you may receive multiple deliveries and tracking numbers.

How Can I Track My Order?

Simply use the tracking link provided 1–3 days after you receive your order confirmation.  If you have questions about your shipment in transit you can contact Direct Freight Express directly on 1-300-347-397 or via their website Direct Freight Express

Can I make changes to my order?

Yes, you can make changes to your order, but only if it hasn’t started processing at the warehouse. Changes might include adding or removing items or updating upholstery options. Once your changes are confirmed, you’ll receive an updated invoice for any remaining balance, or a refund for any surplus amount.

If your order is already processing at the warehouse or in transit, changes are no longer possible. In this case, you can refer to our return policy. Unwanted items can be returned (subject to a $99 return fee), and a new order can be placed for the desired items.

Can I cancel my order?

If your order has not yet begun processing at the warehouse, you may cancel your order for a full refund.  Please contact the Lab via email hello@rovelab.com or chat to request a cancellation.  The request must be received before the order is submitted for shipment.  

If the order is already processed at the warehouse or in transit, cancellation is not guaranteed.  We can contact Direct Freight Express to request a redirect back to the warehouse.  While they will make every effort to accommodate the request, it is not guaranteed, and a $99 return fee will be deducted from the refund. If the item is already delivered or out for delivery, please refer to our Return Policy.

Warranty

What is covered by warranty?

Everything. From Performance Weave, our awesome fabric, to our one and only SmartFoam.

For Performance Weave and SmartFoam, it is a 3-year warranty with free replacement. For a SmartFoam warranty beyond 3 years, we will only charge replacement costs equal to 50% of the retail value. This helps cover the cost of shipping and handling so you get a brand-new sofa for only the replacement cost.

How do I make a claim?

To make a claim, please contact us at hello@rovelab.com. Include a clear description of the issue, along with any photographs or videos, and provide the product labels, including the PI and batch numbers. You can find these labels on the underside of your sofa, chair, bed frame, or other items.
